Dill is widely used spice, but little is known for its healing properties. It comes from southern Russia, West Africa and the Mediterranean region, but is mentioned in the Bible and in ancient Egyptian papyrus.
Dill is high in vitamin C, B1, B2, E, PP, P, carotene and mineral salts of potassium, calcium, phosphorus and iron, and folic acid (vitamin B9). In the oil of fennel is found carvone, d-limonene, α-Filandra, karveol, dihirdokarvon, α-terpinene, dihidrokarve-ol, dipaliol, α-pinene, dipentene, isoeugenol.
