• longer suffering from kidney disease
• have liver disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart failure, obesity
• you are in the hospital or intensive care
• transplant operation

Diet in renal failure

You should limit the amount of sodium and control the amount of phosphorus and protein in your diet. Through such a diet you can reduce toxins in the body, which will help kidneys and slow the process of kidney failure. The diet can be changed, depending on your health.

Limit the amount of protein in your diet and select foods which have a low content of potassium:

• cabbage, green beans
• tomatoes, strawberries, carrots
• potatoes, bananas, oranges
• Reduce the amount of salt in food.

Preventive measures for renal failure:

• limit intake of sodium (salt)
• avoid fried and pickled foods
• drink less alcohol
• do not take painkillers indiscriminately
• maintain a healthy weight, reduce the number of calories you eat
• do not smoke

Treatment of renal failure with herbs

It is well known that herbs have diuretic action (increase urine production). Do not count on it. When you are fit, you should drink at least 2l. of water a day, but if you have kidney problems, you can double that amount.

Parsley

It contains large amounts of potassium and many other vitamins and minerals. Parsley is a natural diuretic.

Pumpkin

Extract of pumpkin seeds or eat a handful of raw pumpkin seeds, daily for 6 months.

Pelargoniums (leaves)

Wash five fresh leaves of pelargoniums and pour over it a cup of boiled water. Let to soak for about twenty minutes, then filter. Sweeten with honey and drink three times a day, by one cup.

Ginger

It is used not only in cooking but it is also an excellent herb for kidney treatment.

Grape seeds extract

This is a powerful antioxidant that supports blood pressure.

Apples

Consume 2-3 apples each day.

Watermelons

A great remedy for renal failure treatment. Try to make a watermelon diet in summer (7 days consume only watermelon and herb tea). Consult your doctor before!

Basil

Take one teaspoon of basil juice and for 6 months. This is the simplest and most useful home remedy for kidney failure.

Cherries (only stalks)

Take a tablespoon of cherrys’ stalks and brew it into 300 ml. of boiling water. Keep it on low heat for about ten minutes, then filter. Drink the liquid three times a day for one cup (coffee), 30 minutes before meals.

Tomato juice (freshly squeezed)

This is the first thing to drink after wake up. Add a pinch of salt and pepper.

Celery
