Herbs Treating Irregular Period

Irregular period can cause a lot of problems, mostly of an emotional nature.  Your doctor will determine, whether the reason for irregular menstruation is gynecological, or it is result of a strict diet, high stress, smoking, side effect of recent medical treatment. Irregular menstruation is common in young girls. Taking hormones also gives a positive effect, and helps to deal with the problem.

1.Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) in irregular period
In folk medicine, yarrow is widely used in the treatment of "female" issues. This herb is known for its stimulating effect on the uterine muscle. It also increases the contractile activity of the uterus muscles, helping the induction of menstrual bleeding.


Yarrow is recommended for women, who have a longer interval between two consecutive bleedings. If a long time you have not had menstruation and make sure you are not pregnant, Yarrow tea can be effective to induce menstrual bleeding. You should drink it in the last days, before the expected period.
Do not drink Yarrow tea if you are pregnant, because it can cause miscarriage!

Recipe
Healing tea is made from 2 tbsp dried yarrow and 1 tablespoon incomplete plantain. Boil half a liter of water and add the herbs.
Brew it for 5-10 minutes, strain when cooled and sip a little. Drink this tea 3 times a day, before eating. Do this every day until the beginning of menstruation.

2.Tribulus (Tribulus terrestris) - in irregular period
Studies on mice with syndrome Shtan Loventau, show about 67% efficiency in the induction of ovulation, followed by a period. But there is not enough information about the effects of this herb over the human body, so it is still not used as a routine treatment for polycystic ovaries and abnormal menstruation. 

The recommended dose for women is 300 or 400 mg per day  (starting from the 5 -th to the 14-th day of the menstrual cycle.) You can see the normalization of the menstrual cycle after 3 months herb taking.

3.Asparagus (Asparagus racemosus) in irregular period
It can be found in the Indian tropical forests. The herb originally received the glory of increasing body's defenses and immune system.
Asparagus is useful in combating  infertility. It improves the functional condition of the entire reproductive system of women, by improving blood circulation to genitals.
It is also taking part in menstrual cycle normalization, by the regulation of estrogen levels, by means of steroidal saponins (active ingredients in the roots of the plant.) The usual dose is 1000 milligrams per day.

4.White peony (Paeonia Officinalis) in irregular period
It is often used for home decoration. Few people know about the healing properties of this flower. White peony is used in the treatment of anemic conditions, and also improves blood circulation of the organs located in the pelvis.

Paeonia Officinalis contains the active ingredient paeoniflorin which has analgesic and antispasmodic effect. Furthermore, it restores normal synthesis of sex hormones, which is involved in the normalization of the period.

5.Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) in irregular period
It’s been used during ancient times to induce menstrual bleeding. In the past, also it induces abortion when used in higher concentrations.

Mugwort increases muscle activity
 of the uterus. It is due to the presence of bioactive substances such as cineole, borneol, tauremizin. These substances arose appetite and have antidepressant properties.

Recipe
Steep 1 teaspoon of the roots in 350 milliliters of boiling water. Allow to soak for half an hour. Drink whole amount 4 times a day.
