What is Sore Throat?
It is an inflammation of the pharynx.

Sore Throat : What Are The Causes?
Most often causes for that pain are:
  • viral infections (colds, flu)
  • bacterial infections (streptococcal bacteria)
  • allergies (foods)
  • smoking or Infected tonsils
  • acid reflux
  • dry air(when you sleep with open mouth)
  • throat abuse (singing, shouting, coughing)
  • polyps or cancer

Viral infections are among the most often reasons for sore troat. They can go with fever, runny nose and achy muscles. Fortunately, viral infections’ symptoms  can be treated. Do not worry, if you have sore troat by a viral source, it will fade on its own within several days.
Bacterial infectionare identical to viral infections, but sometimes they can be more severe or long lasting. These infections, provoked by streptococcal bacteria, go with headache, stomachache and swollen glands.

Postnasal drip and a dry throat – probably because you sleep with your mouth open, which blocks the nasal passages.
Please, do not underestimate sore troat, because it can be a symptom for a serious disease. If strep troat is untreated for a long time, it can lead to rheumatic fever and scarlet fever.
