The classic symptoms of prostate infection include severe genital pains that affect the entire penis and scrotum. In this type of infection, the patient may suffer from painful urination, urgency, frequent urination, blood in the urine or strong-smelling urine due to the presence of microbes.

In prostatitis, prostate gland is increased and in turn presses the urethra and rectum, causing constipation and dysuria. Other symptoms  are: fever, chills, pain in the lower back, body pain, and painful ejaculation. From prostatitis are affected men aged 20 to 40 years.

What does the prostate gland do?

It is one of the most important organs in the reproductive system of the man because it is involved in sperm formation. This gland is responsible for maintaining of some acidity , because sperm  to survive longer in the vagina.
During ejaculation the musculature of the prostate helps the ejection of semen. An interesting fact is that prostate infection becomes cause of prostatitis, in a very small percentage of cases. Behind the infection of the prostate are often hidden complications, such as infection of the urethra or of the bladder.

What tests should I do?
  • laboratory tests
  • complete blood count
  • urinalysis
  • prostate-specific antigen (PSA)
  • semen analysis
  • digital rectal palpation

If the diagnosis of acute bacterial prostatitis is confirmed, immediately go for medical treatment. This disease can occur in acute (acute prostatitis) or chronic form. Chronic prostate infection rarely causes prostatitis. It is less common. The symptoms of chronic prostatitis are similar to those in prostatitis,( in a milder version), but in contrast, are more resistant and with longer duration.
Prostatitis is associated with the amount of zinc in the body. If you have a high level of zinc in the cells, then you are prone to it. It can be provoked by foods rich in this substance or a certain way of life, where we have retention of zinc in the body.
The best therapy for prostatitis is prevention. The most important thing is diet. Avoid foods that are high in zinc.

Foods to avoid
These are foods and drinks that irritate the bladder:
  • coffee, tea, cola, energy drinks, spices and citrus juices, nuts, seeds, soy, shellfish, brain, liver, kidney, wheat germ
  • avoid cigarettes and alcohol
  •  drink at least 8 glasses of water a day

If the infection continues or complications occur, immediately consult a doctor!Increase your intake of copper. This is a wonderful anti-inflammatory remedy. You can take it as a dietary supplement or to eat foods which containing it (pumpkin, asparagus, wholemeal bread). Copper will reduce the amount of zinc in the body and the system will cope with the enlarged prostate alone.

Prostate cancer. Symptoms.
Symptoms of prostate cancer can be mistaken for those of prostatitis. These may include flu-like symptoms, blood in urine or semen, painful ejaculation, persistent pain in the lower back, pelvis, or lower in the upper thighs.

Blood in the urine - is there a risk?

Blood in the urine
Normal urine color is considered  from pale yellow to saturated amber color. This is due to a pigment and depending on how diluted or concentrated is the urine.  The urine color can be changed  by certain compounds in foods and medicines.
Among the foods that can change the urine color are beets, berries, blueberries etc. Drugs alter the urine in brighter colors - raspberry red, lemon yellow and orange.
The presence of an unusual color is an indicator of infection, for example - dark purple. This color is characterized by a rare inherited disease of the red blood cells.

Symptoms

The typical urine color varies depending on how much water you drink. Urine may look very clean, because the liquids can dissolve the yellow pigments in it. If you drink less, the color becomes more concentrated. When you are dehydrated the urine may become amber-colored.
In some special cases the urine can be in shocking colors such as red, blue, green, dark brown or cloudy white.

When to search for a doctor?

  • if you see blood in the urine (this is a sign of a urinary tract infection)
  • painless bleeding (serious infection, tumor)
  • if urine is dark-brown (if accompanied by pale stools and yellow skin and eyes, it is a sign that your liver doesn’t work properly)

Urine color-causes

Colorless urine
Urine without color can be caused by drugs, certain foods or other types of colorants.

Red or pink urine
The  shocking color (red)  is not always a sign of serious illness. Red or pink color may be caused by:

Bleeding - caused by a urinary tract infection, enlarged  prostate, cancer and non-cancerous tumors, kidney cycts, bladder stones

Food - beet, blackberries and other fruit can turn urine in red, pink and other colors

Medicines - Rifampin (Rifadin, Rimactane), certain antibiotics used to treat  tuberculosis, can turn urine red
Toxins - lead poisoning or mercury also can color the urine

Orange urine
This color can be caused by:

Drugs - rifampin; inflammatory drug sulfasalazine (azulfidine); Phenazopyridine (pyridine), drugs that create discomfort to the urinary tract, some laxatives, and some chemotherapy drugs
Health problems - orange urine can be caused by problems with the liver and gallbladder (especially if you have light stools). Orange color may be caused by dehydration.

Blue or green urine
It can be a result of:

Dyes - some  food dyes can cause this color. Some dyes (used for tests of the kidneys and bladder) can turn urine blue.

Medicines - a number of drugs can produce blue or green urine, such as amitriptyline, indomethacin (Indocin) and propofol (Diprivan).

Health problems - for example, blue diaper syndrome is a rare  family disease in children – they have blue urine. The green color of urine occurs when there is an infection of the urinary tract caused by a certain type of bacteria.

Dark brown urine
Consumption of certain foods, certain types of beans, rhubarb or aloe can cause dark brown urine. Some types of medications can also cause dark brown urine, these are: metronidazole, nitrofurantoin and various antibiotics, laxatives, methocarbamol - muscle relaxant.

Various hepatic and renal diseases may change urine in brown and some urinary tract infections, as well. Cloudy urine can be caused by infections of the urinary tract and kidneys.

Risk factors
Age - tumors of the bladder or kidney may lead to blood in the urine. Men over 50 are most affected. They can have blood in the urine due to an enlarged prostate. Women most often suffer from urinary tract infections, so they are not insured, though.

Family history
Family members who suffer from a kidney disease are  prone to blood in the urine.
Many exercises ( weightlifting) can also lead to appearance of blood  in the urine.

Important questions helping to understand how serious the illness is
1. What is the color of your urine?
2. Do you have blood clots in the urine?
3. When did you first noticed the unusual color of the urine?
4. Do you notice an unusual smell of the urine?
5. Does  the urinating  is more or less than usual?
6. Do you feel pain when urinating?
7. Do you have a change in appetite?
8.What other symptoms do you experience?
9. Do you have any allergies?
10.What medications do you take?

The stones are hard, crystalline mineral formations formed in the kidneys or urinary tract. They are formed when the urine volume decreases and / or there are some impurities in the urine (substances). Kidney stones are often the cause of blood in the urine or pain in the abdomen and groin.

Risk Factors

  • people with certain medical conditions (gout)
  • taking enough water and fluids
  • chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure
  • people with inflammatory bowel disease
  • calcium deficiency in the diet
  • certain drugs and foods (excessive intake of animal protein, increased consumption of salt and sugar)
  • it is more common in men than in women
  • at risk are people aged 20-50 years
  • people who have already had more than one kidney stone
  • family history
  • if you have high levels of uric acid in the blood
  • in pregnant women
  • residents of hot and dry regions

Causes of kidney stones

The main factor for the formation of kidney stones is dehydration of the body. Most often the kidney stones contains calcium in combination with oxalate (hence, the name oxalate stones) or phosphate.

Other compounds which can also form stones are:

  • uric acid
  • magnesium ammonium phosphate
  • amino acids

Stones in the kidneys may lead to urinary tract infection. Metabolic disorders or hereditary diseases may change the structure of urine and increase the risk of stone formation.

Symptoms and signs

Sometimes symptoms may be "silent" and unnoticed. Do not think that by changing the position of the body, it will relieve the pain. Sometimes it is so severe and painful that may be accompanied by nausea and vomiting or blood in the urine.
If the urinary tract is infected, you may have a fever and chills. You may  experience symptoms such as dysuria, urinary urgency or pain in the groin.

How to remove kidney stones naturally?

Increase your intake of foods that are natural diuretics:
watermelon, cantaloupe, celery, grapes

These foods restore kidney function and help our body to  get rid of the excess fluids.
Eat lots of green vegetables, fruits, legumes, fish and chicken. Include in your diet foods that are high in magnesium:
coffee, rice, bananas, oats, barley, soybean, linseed

The most important thing! Drink at least 2-3 liters water every day.

Bananas
Moderate consumption of bananas reduces the risk of kidney cancer. They are rich in antioxidants, which eliminates free radicals.
Eat 4-6 bananas a week.

Cucumbers
Cucumbers are a natural remedy for "cleaning" of the kidneys. Drinking juice or fresh cucumber removes toxins from the body. In combination with carrot juice it is a wonderful remedy.

Recipe
Take a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, mix it with a glass of water and drink before each meal. This mixture softens and dissolves stones.

Figs
1.Pick 25 fig leaves. Every day in 500 ml of water boil one leaf.  You should  boil  the mixture  until  it leaves 250 ml. Drink through the whole day  from this mixture (in small sips) in period of 25 days. Then have rest for 25 days and repeat again until you restore to health.

2.Boil two figs in a cup. Drink the mixture every morning within 30-40 days.

How long it takes the kidney stone to pass out  from the urinary tract?

Most kidney stones pass out of the urinary system within 48 hours, with sufficient fluid intake. There are several factors that indicate passing out the stone:

  • height
  • large prostate
  • pregnancy
  • size of the stone

For example, kidney stone  with size 4 mm has 80% chance of passing, while kidney stone with 5 mm have a 20% chance. Stones larger than 9-10 mm rarely pass without specific treatment.

Treatment of kidney stones with herbs
Turnip

Drinking radish juice is useful for all kidney diseases. One cup of radish juice on an empty stomach (in the morning), dissolve the stones and takes them out through the urine.

Complications of Diabetes - Diabetic retinopathy

Complications of Diabetes

It may cause sudden (acute) or chronic complications. Usually it is because of the poor control of blood glucose.

I. Acute complications

Hypoglycaemia
It is associated with very low blood sugar levels in the blood.  You can get hypoglycaemia when take more diabetic medications, not taking enough food, or do very exhausting  exercises. If you notice the first symptoms, quickly eat something sweet or drink a glass of fruit juice before things become serious. If you do nothing, it could lead to a crisis or coma.

Diabetic ketoacidosis
This complication is typical for people with diabetes type 1. You get it when the body doesn’t have enough insulin (or insufficient quantity). People with diabetic ketoacidosis have very high blood sugar levels and get very fast dehydration of the body. Thus, glucose can not enter cells and they remain without energy. Then, they begin to provide themselves with energy as degrade proteins and fats. So,  blood becomes "sour" because of the substances (ketones) which accumulate therein. This condition is known as diabetic ketoacidosis.

II.Chronic complications.

It is obtained as a result of damage to blood vessels. Due to diabetes, the small blood vessels  can become weaker, and the large ones - harden, narrow and become blocked by clots. This can lead to a number of complications.
The following complications can be prevented if you keep a strict control:

Problems related to blood circulation

Atherosclerosis and the damage of the  major blood vessels can lead to difficult blood circulation in the body and thus,  harm the heart, brain and peripheral limbs. We must not forget the fact that people with diabetes are more prone to high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels.

Attention!

When the heart circulation is affected , there is an increased risk of heart attack and angina.
When the brain circulation is affected, there is increased risk of stroke on the brain.
Poor blood circulation in peripheral limbs is called peripheral vascular disease. This could lead to increased frequency of infections, ulcers, and in some cases can lead to gangrene.

Nerve damage caused by diabetes

Most often these are the nerves of the legs and sometimes of the arms.
Damage to the nerves may cause the following symptoms:
  • reduced sensitivity
  • numbness
  • formication
Some doctors treating the condition with medications used for the treatment of depression, and epilepsy. In diabetes the blood vessels in the retina can weaken and deteriorate. This may lead to leakage of blood into the eyeball, blearing the vision. This process is called diabetic retinopathy.

Diabetic retinopathy and cataract do not develop overnight. You must have been a diabetic patient for many years to be affected by them. Therefore it’s recommended to visit doctor every 1-2 years.

Renal failure as a result of diabetes.
Diabetic nephropathy.

The kidneys remove waste from the blood and  eliminate  them through the urine.
Provided that, these structures and blood vessels in the kidneys are damaged, they may stop functioning (effectively). When this happens we are talking about diabetic nephropathy.
Kidneys play a huge role in regulating blood pressure. Diabetes can lead to high blood pressure, which later may damage the kidneys. Reduced consumption of salt  and proper diet can cure high blood pressure. Patients with diabetes are at increased risk of developing urinary tract  infection, which can damage  the kidneys, if the infection reach them.

Problems with gums and teeth

Diabetics are subject to greater risk of developing infections of the teeth and gums. Is often advisable to visit your dentist.

Sexual weakness

Problems with the blood vessels and the resulting poor blood circulation can cause impotence in men. The situation may further be exacerbated by other conditions related to diabetes, such as high blood pressure. If you have a problem, see a doctor immediately.
